Exploring the role of societal beliefs and norms in influencing participation of women in the labour

This Learning Exchange dived into lived experiences uncovered through the “Ficr Circle” method, revealing how close relatives, parents, brothers, and spouses can either support or hinder women’s participation in the labor market in Jordan and Pakistan. Researchers presented their findings, shedding light on practical ways to develop a more inclusive and equitable economy. Together, we discussed strategies to transform family and community mindsets, strengthen support systems, and advance women’s agency to drive gender equality in the workplace.
